Internship Program With LEAP

Build your skills. Make a difference. Help shape a more affordable Idaho.

About the Program

LEAP Housing offers meaningful, hands-on internship opportunities for individuals with ties to Idaho who are eager to explore mission-driven work at the intersection of real estate, nonprofit strategy, and community impact. These roles are ideal for current students, early-career professionals, recent graduates, gap-year participants, or anyone seeking real-world experience in affordable housing, fundraising, communications, and community development.

Interns contribute directly to LEAP’s efforts to expand access to housing across the state—housing that is priced to be affordable to local and family-level wages. This is an unpaid opportunity with flexible scheduling (5–25 hours per week) and the option to work remotely, in-person (Boise), or in a hybrid format. Weekly Friday team meetings are required for all interns.

Internship Periods

LEAP accepts internship applications on a rolling basis. We conduct three seasonal internship cohorts each year during the following periods:

  • Spring: January 1 – April 15

  • Summer: May 1 – August 15

  • Fall: September 1 – December 15

Start and end dates may be adjusted slightly in coordination with selected candidates. Additional logistics for the program include:

  • Hours: 5–25 per week (flexible based on your availability)

  • Format: Remote, hybrid, or in-person (Boise)

  • Meetings: Weekly team check-ins on Fridays (required)

About LEAP Housing

LEAP Housing is an Idaho-based nonprofit working to ensure that all Idahoans have access to an affordable place to call home. We advance this mission through a combination of homeownership, rental housing, and preservation strategies, as well as by providing technical assistance to community leaders and offering low-cost financing tools. From Driggs to Priest River, LEAP is committed to meeting Idaho’s growing housing needs through innovative, community-driven solutions.

Who Should Apply

You might be a college student, a recent graduate, someone taking a gap year, or someone exploring a new career direction. What matters most is your interest in community-based solutions, your commitment to learning, and your desire to contribute meaningfully to LEAP’s work.
